Three questions for …
… Nils Krützmann
Our team has many different faces who sit in front of the PC, stand at the workbench and travel many kilometres by car to be on site with you every day for our products. And to give you an idea of who is behind our products, we introduce you to a new member of the Schuchmann team every month under the motto “Three questions to”.
Today we introduce you to Nils Krützmann. Nils is our product manager and takes care of the management of our products. From managing and supporting the entire life cycle of a product to market and competition analyses. He is also the interface between marketing, sales and research and development – a much sought-after man in our company!
1. Do you have a “bucket list”??
I definitely want to travel to South Africa once more in my life to go on a “Big Five” photo safari, i.e. to observe buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards and rhinos in the wild. South Africa fascinates me because of the incredible biodiversity, the culture and history of the country, as well as the landscapes, such as Table Mountain or the Cape of Good Hope. A visit could also be wonderfully combined with shark diving.
2. Do you work in the profession you originally learnt??
Not really. I started my professional career with an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant in a technical wholesale company. Since my childhood, however, I have been interested in engineering – probably fuelled by Daniel Gyro Gearloose – and so I decided to complete a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in engineering at the TH Cologne. I then switched to product management, where I work today, in order to combine the technical and commercial aspects of an industrial company.
3. What is the best thing about your job?
Spontaneously, I would say that it is really nice to work with so many nice colleagues from so many different departments to help children all over the world. This makes the day-to-day work very varied due to the different tasks and on the one hand you get to know lots of interesting people and on the other hand you learn something new every day.
Thank you Nils for the insight into your everyday life and your daily work at Schuchmann.
