Dancing in the till.

Standing is fun.

We recently visited Sipan at the Rainbow school in Münster in Germany. Sipan has multiple severe disabilities and attends the 8th grade of the special school which is environment with a specific focus on physical and motor development.

Sipan enjoys participating in the lessons in his class. However, due to his medical condition, it is not possible for Sipan to join the lessons using a therapy chair. He therefore spends a large part of his school day in his nursing bed, which is located in an adjoining room of the classroom. For this reason, our colleague Jan Seekamp brought him our supine standing frame till..

Sipan enjoys standing

The till. can be conveniently lowered to bed height and pushed right next to the nursing bed for easy and comfortable transfer. Jan helped to adapt the product perfectly to Sipan and after only a short time we could see how he relaxed in it. His one to one teacher was then able to carefully move Sipan from a lying to a standing position. After a short period of getting used to it, he really enjoyed standing. He was able to play a game with his classmate and play music on a small keyboard.

Sipan loves music, especially Arabic pop music! It was on all the time during our visit to the Rainbow School. “The music helps Sipan to relax, especially when he comes into contact with something new,” says his career. And the till. has obviously pleased him so much that he has even danced to his favourite music in it.

Thanks to till., Sipan can now participate in lessons directly in the classroom, either lying down or standing up. The regular standing is also having a positive effect on his on his body structures and functions and it also promotes his participation in classroom activities.

We wish Sipan all the best for his future school years and much joy with the till..
