Our sponsored elephant Yaro at Osnabrück Zoo
We recently visited our sponsored elephant Yaro at Osnabrück Zoo and were able to gain an impressive insight into the life of the growing elephant. Yaro, who will be four years old in December, now weighs an impressive 1400 kilograms and is developing magnificently.
During our visit, we also had the opportunity to meet Yaro’s new friend. It was particularly exciting to see how Yaro is spending more and more time with the new bull elephant, Ananda. The bull moved into Osnabrück Zoo this year. Yaro’s mother Douanita and his sister Sita also get on well with Ananda.

But Ananda is not only important to Yaro as a friend. He is like a foster father to the young bull elephant and plays an important role in his everyday life. The two of them are now a well-rehearsed team and almost inseparable.
It is fascinating to follow the development of Yaro, our sponsored elephant, as he slowly grows into a handsome young bull.
