900 euros for the outpatient children’s hospice in Osnabrück

We are passionate repeat contributors to this cause. For many years now, the Schuchmann team have been donating to the local hospice service and the outpatient children’s hospice. We were warmly welcomed by Anika Vartmann, the coordinator for children’s hospice work.

Profits, profits, profits!

734 Euros of the donation amount was collected at our internal raffle, which we have done at Christmas for several years now. Schuchmann colleagues buy tickets for 1 euro each and have the chance to win prizes. The prizes for the raffle are kindly donated by our customers and suppliers. The prizes are traditionally quite calorie-rich and tasty, and accordingly much sought-after.

Barbecue for a good cause

But it was not only the raffle that the staff generously bought tickets for. Last summer, our “kitchen fairy” Kathleen barbecued again and again for a good cause. The employees paid 1.50 euros per sausage. More than 170 euros were collected for the outpatient children’s hospice in Osnabrück. “It tastes even better that way, doesn’t it?” says Kathleen with a smile on her face.

Many projects are financed by donations

Ms. Vartmann gives us many examples of what our donations were used for in the children’s hospice: “Last year, we were able to implement an image film for the volunteers from the donations. In it, volunteers report on their work. This has been very well received and we have also been able to recruit some new volunteers for the hospice service.”

“We have also expanded our therapy services for children and families. Thanks to the donations, there is now, aroma relaxation therapy for the parents and canine companionship within the family. Animals and especially dogs are an added value in therapy for the whole family,” Mrs. Vartmann tells us.

The money donated will continue to be used to finance the existing projects. It will also be used to increase support for activities. Qualified volunteers accompany the families and take their individual wishes into account. Since last year, more attention has been paid to siblings. For example, the volunteers were able to take the children to the trampoline hall “UpSprung” and enjoy a carefree day there.

We are already looking forward to our next donation to the Osnabrück Hospice.
