But why cycle lying down? What advantages does a recumbent bike offer compared to conventional bikes?<\/p>\n<p>The <em>mats.<\/em> recumbent bike was developed especially for people with congenital or acquired disabilities \u2013 in particular for those whose mobility is restricted by neurological, genetic or orthopaedic conditions and the resulting deformities. These include <strong>cerebral palsy, spina bifida, paraplegia, trisomy 21, Rett syndrome, muscular disorders<\/strong> and <strong>Kabuki syndrome<\/strong>. People with mental illnesses that affect their mobility, such as <strong>autism spectrum disorders<\/strong>, also benefit from the adapted, safe riding experience.<\/p>\n<h4>Advantages of the mats. recumbent bike at a glance:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stability and safety <\/strong>thanks to low seat position and centre of gravity<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relief for the spine and joints<\/strong> thanks to full-surface seat support<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promotes independence<\/strong> in everyday life<\/li>\n<li><strong>Can also be used by people with balance problems or a tendency to fall<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Enables participation<\/strong> despite physical limitations<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support<\/strong> for balance problems, spasticity or uncontrolled movements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <em>mats.<\/em> opens up new avenues of mobility for people who cannot use conventional two- or three-wheeled bikes. The recumbent bike offers a safe and practical solution, especially for people with <strong>limited posture control, loss of strength, balance problems, restricted movement or misalignment of the spine or pelvis<\/strong>.
